I love beautiful things. I appreciate these things just for their beauty and the happiness I feel looking at them. I like to coordinate colors and objects because it makes me feel confident, organized, and calm about my surroundings.
This Bamboo Cup by Fulai is one of those things. Although it is usable for drinking and serving, it is so beautiful just to look at. It is carved out of Bamboo and it appears that the decore on the cup is carved by a lazer printer. I think this because the details are so very tiny, I am not sure a person could do it. It is a carved bamboo color of creamy white and maybe dyed in the darker areas. It is a lovely peace to keep for yourself, or give to a friend for a gift.

GOLDEN OAK BARRELS!!
I have made wine before, beer and root beer I made as well. The wine I put in bottles and used hand press corking machine. The wine came out okay. We learned alot about making wine. We made root beer one summer. Again, we learned alot. After a few days, the bottles began exploding in the kitchen! I had to call everyone to whom I had given one as a gift to warn them! Talk about embarrassing!
When I saw this barrel, I just had to have it. It is beautifully done in oak. You can see the shine of the oak and the black steel strapping around the barrel The barrel has a working bung and spiget. I love the smell of oak and this barrel freely fill the air, and the touch is smooth. On the bottom is a wood burn stamped logo of "Golden Oak Barrels" The barrels come in 2L and 1L barrels.

This is a very refreshing and new way to teach anyone about Colonial America. The author, Carole P. Roman tells all the necessary details in the second person, "if you were me you....."
Using second person personalizes the book to the child and they can see and feel, yes feel, what it would be like to have lived in Colonial America.
Not only that, but this book, gives you questions for you to ask the children to whom you read. BUT they are not questions to see if they are listening and get the facts. The questions are such that they cause the children (and reader/adults) to really think deeply of what it might be like to have lived in Colonial America, not as a whole but at particular events and occurances and cultural points. If you pause to REALLY think about the topic, you will feel what it is like to have lived back then.
And that is not all......Sarah Wright has written other books such as
If You Were Me and Lived In Ancient Greece which was included with the book on Colonial America, and that book is just as
breathtaking and inspiring and reflective as IF YOU WERE ME AND LIVED IN COLONIAL AMERICA. Other books are about
